Conçu comme une réflexion collective dynamique, cet article est issu d’un séminaire. Ce dernier s’est échelonné sur trois ans dans le cadre des activités de recherche du cursus Asie de la Faculté des lettres de l’Institut Catholique de Paris. Il s’est donné pour objectif d’apporter une contribution significative à une géographie des arts contemporains en Chine, en Inde et en Iran sous la forme de communications en voie d’être désormais publiées. D’un point de vue méthodologique, ce travail universitaire a été porté par une considération commune selon laquelle, outre la littérature ou les œuvres de pensée, les arts et les pratiques artistiques qui s’y développent permettent de juger de la situation d’une société et de questionner sa mouvante identité.

Conceived as a dynamic and a collective reflection, this article is based on a seminar which spread over three years as part of the research activities of the Asian curriculum of the Faculty of Arts of the Catholic Institute of Paris. It aims to make a significant contribution to a contemporary art geography in China, India and Iran as well in the form of papers on the way to being published. From a methodological point of view, this academic work has been driven by a common view that, in addition to literature or works of thought, the arts and artistic practices that develop in it make it possible to judge the situation of a particular society and to question its moving identity.
