Le transhumanisme est un phénomène difficile à saisir parce qu’il comprend des aspects économiques, scientifiques, industriels, philosophiques et aussi mercantiles.Cet article veut comprendre le transhumanisme par une série de trois convergences : celle des nouvelles technologies ( nanotechnologies, biotechnologies, technologies de l’ information et sciences cognitives), celle de la pensée économique ultralibérale avec les possibilités nouvelles offertes aux humains pour augmenter leurs capacités, enfin convergence avec la crise anthropologique contemporaine où le transhumanisme se présente comme solution de remplacement.Deux exemples exposés permettent de comprendre des manières de réagir de la part de théologiens chrétiens. Le premier vient du théologien protestant Guilhen Antier et l’autre du Groupe de recherche en anthropologie chrétienne du Theologicum.

Transhumanism is a phenomenon that is difficult to grasp because it includes economic, scientific, industrial, philosophical and also merchantable aspects.This article aims to understand transhumanism through a series of three convergences : that of new technologies ( Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Information technology and Cognitive science), that of ultra-liberal economic thinking with the new possibilities offered to humans to increase their capacities, and finally convergence with the contemporary anthropological crisis where transhumanism is presented as an alternative solution. Two examples presented allow us to understand ways of reacting on the part of Christian theologians. The first comes from the Protestant theologian Guilhen Antier and the other from the Theologicum’s research group in Christian anthropology.
