The aim of our study is to look into the narrative situation in Jn 2,23–4,3 to highlight the unity of the meaning that emerges from the polyphonic field created by the voices that include its enunciation. We will try to unveil the deployment of a unified story that could be that of the believing identity in spite of three intertwining narrative discourses with three different narrators. The theological challenge will consist in seeing how the poetic of the Johannic story becomes a communication channel for the new experiences of the existence from above. This analysis will focus on the study of narrative and enunciative figures of the Johannic narrative discourse – especially that of the narrator(s) – as voices through which the Johannic narrative turns into the narration of the world of faith for the reader.

Dans cette recherche, nous proposons d’étudier la situation narrative de Jn 2,23–4,3 afin de manifester l’unité de sens surgissant du milieu polyphonique des voix chargées de son énonciation. En ce sens, nous chercherons à dévoiler le déploiement d’un récit unifié, qui pourrait être celui de l’identité croyante, pourtant composé d’un enchâssement de trois récits à narrateur distinct. L’enjeu théologique consistera à voir comment la poétique du récit johannique se fait canal de communication des expériences nouvelles de l’existence née d’en haut. Cette analyse s’articulera sur l’étude des figures narratives et énonciatives du récit johannique – en particulier, celle du/des narrateur(s) – comme autant de voix par lesquelles la narrativité johannique se fait pour le lecteur narration du monde de la foi.
