La place qui a été donnée à l’analyse des pratiques professionnelle dans l’histoire des formations et dans l’évolution des référentiels d’intervention du champ social peut être considérée comme un des marqueurs de la plus ou moins grande prise en compte des facteurs subjectifs présents dans les relations d’aide. En repartant de la définition de ces espaces d’analyse des pratiques ou de supervision dans la construction des métiers historiques du social, en visitant quelques-unes des influences théoriques qui les ont nourris puis des cadres institutionnels qui les ont soutenus ou refusés, il s’agira de montrer combien la notion de « bonne distance » a pu se retrouver prise dans des représentations contrastées voire antagonistes.

The place given to the professional practices analysis in the history of training and in the evolution of guidelines for intervention in the field of social work can be considered as one of the markers of the greater or lesser extent to which subjective factors present in helping relationships are taken into account.Starting from the definition of these forms of practice analysis or supervision in the construction of the historical social professions, the authors describes some of the theoretical influences that have nourished them and the institutional frameworks that have supported or refused them. The aim of this paper is to show how the notion of « healthy distance » has been caught up in contrasting or even antagonistic representations.
