L’auteur pose tout d’abord que la psychanalyse est aujourd’hui plurielle et que le meilleur des débats entre les différentes traditions qui la composent porte sur l’essentiel : sur nos conceptions et pratiques différentes de l’inconscient. De là il montre que la problématique jungienne, quant à elle, est émergentiste et délibérément dramatisée jusque dans ses expressions les plus conceptuelles, ce qui le conduit à analyser comment Jung a pu recourir à l’amplification à divers moments de son œuvre, et à évoquer comment, après lui, cette pratique peut soutenir le vécu et l’analyse du transfert notamment. Il conclut en faisant valoir que toute pensée psychanalytique, fondamentalement, dans quelque tradition qu’elle s’inscrive, est elle-même à concevoir et à pratiquer comme un travail d’amplification.

Amplification and Thought. After Jung. The author of this article begins by arguing that today psychoanalysis is a plural subject and that the best debate between the different traditions that compose it is based on one central point – the differentc onceptions and practical approaches to the unconscious. From here, he shows that the Jungian position is an emergentist one and is deliberately dramatized in its most conceptual form, which leads the author to analyse how Jung has recourse to amplification at different stages in his work and to evoke how, after Jung, this approach can sustain the experience and analysis of transference in particular. The author concludes by showing how all psychoanalytical thought patterns, to whatever tradition they belong, are fundamentally to be conceived and carried out as an amplification process.
