Les relations entre psychiatres et psychanalystes d’aujourd’hui sont abordées par le biais des réactions contrastées observées dans les suites de la publication par l’INSERM du rapport sur l’efficacité comparée de trois groupes de psychothérapie. Celle-ci a reposé sur une analyse de la littérature sélectionnée sur des critères de qualité. La démarche même et les résultats de l’investigation ont immédiatement fait réapparaître d’anciens conflits et des clivages que l’on avait pu penser dépassés. Peut-on évaluer les psychothérapies ? Faut-il chercher à les évaluer ? Comment les évaluer ? Partisans et détracteurs de l’évaluation sont désormais les catégories de personnes qui s’opposent, plus fidèle reflet de la réalité que les classiques oppositions entre psychiatres et psychanalystes ou prescripteurs de médicaments et psychothérapeutes.

Guelfi – Psychoanalysts and Psychiatrists Today The relations between psychiatrists and psychoanalysts today are examined from the basis of the contrasting reactions observed in the wake of the publication by the French organisation, INSERM, of the report on the comparative efficiency of three psycho-therapy groups. This was based on an analysis of literature selected according to quality criteria. The idea itself and the results of the investigations immediately brought former conflicts to the surface and revived cleavages that we thought were a thing of the past. Can psychotherapies be evaluated ? How can we evaluate them ? Those in favour of and those against evaluation methods are now in opposing camps, and this is a more faithful reflection of reality than the traditional oppositions between psychiatrists and psychoanalysts, or those that prescribe drugs and those that are psychotherapists.
