L’auteur présente ici une métapsychologie de l’amour. Après avoir rejeté la distinction entre amour de désir et passion, il reconnaîtra la même intensité entre l’amour de désir et l’amour mystique. Il propose de distinguer ces deux configurations de l’amour à partir du rapport au réel, réel dont il trouvera dans le texte freudien une définition. Pour penser l’amour de désir en termes métapsychologiques, l’auteur proposera une nouvelle articulation entre sexualité, désir, narcissisme, idéaux et sublimation. Selon lui cette nouvelle articulation implique une nouvelle conception du Surmoi.

True love The author presents here a metapsychology of love. After having rejected the distinction between loved based on desire and passion, he recognizes the same intensity between this love and mystical love. He proposes to distinguish between these two forms of love by considering their relation with the real, the definition of which he will find in Freud. To theorize love based on desire in metapsychological termes, the author will propose a new articulation between sexuality, desire, narcissism, ideals and sublimation. For him this new articulation implies a new conception of the Super-Ego.
