Les histoires de cas peuvent être d’une uniformité monotone qui ne laisse pas transparaître l’expérience de l’analyse dont elles découlent, mais uniquement les noyaux théoriques autour desquels l’analyste organise sa narration. Que sont, à partir de Freud, les noyaux théoriques ? Transcendantaux, à priori, universels ? La « bonne » écriture peut permettre à la pensée de conjuguer et d’articuler les universaux et les singularités, en dépassant l’inimitié permanente qui oppose ces deux termes.

The Clinical Case Case histories may sometimes become so monotonously uniform that they fail to express the individual experience of analysis from which they stem, and are reduced to the core theories around which the analyst organises their account. How can we define these core theories in the light of Freud’s work ? Are they transcendental and, as such, universal in essence ? Surely a ‘successful’ transcription of an analysis into words should allow both universal and individual elements to find their articulation, thus surpassing the contradiction in terms these two notions initially imply.
