RÉSUMÉ Cet article se propose de réfléchir aux conditions d’adoption des technologies dans les organisations en prenant comme principaux axes de discussion, les notions d’acceptabilité et d’acceptation technologique. Si l’acceptabilité relève schématiquement d’un pronostic d’usage dans lequel l’utilisateur est invité à établir une évaluation par anticipation des coûts-bénéfices sur un certain nombre de critères ; l’acceptation relève, quant à elle, d’une analyse des incidences de l’usage des technologies sur diverses dimensions de l’activité professionnelle. Partant d’une description des spécificités et des déterminants de chacune de ces deux approches, ce papier a également pour objectif de montrer que ces deux orientations doivent s’articuler et se compléter dans un modèle général (pour l’instant esquissé) d’aide à la conception et à l’appropriation des dispositifs technologiques dans les organisations.

TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE AND ACCEPTABILITY IN ORGANIZATIONS This article examines the conditions for the adoption of technologies in organizations, taking as axes of discussion the notions of acceptability and technological acceptance. Acceptability is seen to be a situation in which the user is prompted to establish an evaluation by anticipating the cost-benefit of using a number of criteria. Acceptance is an analysis of the impact of the use of technologies on various dimensions of the professional activity. After a description of the specific characteristics and determinants of each of these two approaches, this paper aims to show that they must both be integrated and complemented in a general model for the design and appropriation of technology in organizations.
