Cet article développe dans une perspective psychanalytique, aux deux plans de la clinique et du social, les modalités du pouvoir de l’art – imaginaire, symbolique, réel – en tant que celui-ci s’articule à la création. Le pouvoir de l’art – si pouvoir il y a – procède en tout cas de son « défaut », à savoir de la castration et du renoncement.

This article adopts a psychoanalytical perspective, both in clinical and social terms, concerning the modalities of art’s power – imaginary, symbolic and real – and how the latter may be articulated with creativity. The power of art – if indeed it has one – proceeds from what it ‘lacks’, in other words, from castration and renunciation.
