Devant la menace d’une guerre « totale » on tâche ici de décrire, à l’écart de partis-pris politiques ou idéologiques, l’enchaînement historique du mécanisme des effacements identitaires par lesquels un État a tenté et tente de s’imposer au monde. Le regard psychanalytique porté sur ce constat reste discret, aucune explication de cet ordre ni a fortiori aucun diagnostic ne pouvant être décemment affirmé en l’occurrence.

In the face of the threat of ‘total’ war, this paper eschews political or ideological bias in an attempt to describe the historical sequencing of the mechanism by which identity is erased and through which a State has tried or indeed is trying to impose itself on the world. The perspective of psychoanalysis with regards to this observation remains discreet, as no explication for this order nor a fortiori any diagnosis can be reasonably affirmed in this case.
