L’histoire du mouvement psychanalytique montre comment plus d’un chemina aux côtés de Freud ignorant alors les points de désaccord qui allaient peser d’un poids suffisant pour l’amener sinon à se séparer du moins à revendiquer une psychanalyse à sa manière. L’exemple de la fondation du 4e Groupe OPLF souligne qu’on ne saurait faire des scissions un phénomène purement institutionnel, un fait de politique, mais que plus profondément les initiateurs de ces scissions ont opéré une dérive théorique due à leurs apports propres qui fait potentiellement effet de coupure.

The history of the psychoanalytic movement shows how more than one of them walked alongside Freud, unaware of the points of disagreement that would carry enough weight to lead him, if not to separate, at least to claim a psychoanalysis of his own. The example of the foundation of the 4th OPLF Group underlines that we cannot consider splits as a purely institutional phenomenon, a fact of politics, but that more profoundly the initiators of these splits have operated a theoretical drift due to their own contributions which has the potential effect of a break.
