Nous proposons une réflexion sur l’engagement politique et militant des psychanalystes en partant du cas singulier de René Laforgue. Il a occupé une position trouble durant l’occupation allemande en correspondant avec des fonctionnaires nazis. Simultanément, il hébergeait juifs et communistes. En réouvrant le débat historique existant, nous tentons de l’alimenter en remarquant que cet engagement militant se soutient d’une orientation théorique propre à renverser le statut freudien de l’objet.

Here we propose a reflection on the political and militant engagement of psychoanalysts via the singular case of René Laforgue. He held a murky position during the German occupation of France, corresponding with Nazi officials. Simultaneously, he hosted Jews and communists. By reopening this historical debate, we aim to shed new light on the issue by pointing out that this militant engagement was supported by a theoretical orientation that overthrew the Freudian status of the object.
