L’influence du modèle biomédical conduit à la biologisation et à la surspécialisation de cette pratique, ce qui risque d’évacuer l’importance des facteurs psychosociaux. Elargir la base diagnostique en rencontrant la famille dès l’évaluation de l’enfant et utiliser une approche intégratrice sont suggérés pour réhabiliter la famille. Dans les centres où il existe déjà des cliniques spécialisées, l’ajout d’une clinique de thérapie familiale facilite l’arrimage de la famille aux soins secondaires et tertiaires.

Contemporary child psychiatry and the family. Reviewing the field of child psychiatry, the authors report that the family is more and more marginalized in this discipline. The influence of the biomedical model leads to the biologization and the overspecialization of this field with the risk of neglecting psychosocial factors. Enlarging the diagnostic base by meeting the family at the time of the evaluation of the child and using an integrative approach are suggested to rehabilitate the family. In places where specialized clinics are already used, adding a family therapy clinic helps linking the family to secondary and tertiary care.

La psiquiatría contemporánea y la familia. Haciendo un cuadro de la psiquiatría juvenil, los autores reportan que la familia es cada vez más marginada. La influencia del modelo biológicomedical conduce a la superespecialización de esta práctica, el peligro de este hecho es la disminución de la importancia de los factores psicológicos y sociales. Aumentar la base diagnóstica en encontrando a la familia desde la valuación del niño y utilizar una intervención integrista son sugeridas para rehabilitar a la familia. En los centros donde ya existen unas clínicas especializadas, el añadido de una clínica de terapia familiar facilita la asociación de la familia a los cuidados secundarios y terciarios.
