RésuméLe Portugal tient une place à part dans le si vaste marché international des telenovelas brésiliennes qui ont influencé jusqu’au vocabulaire du public portugais ou les goûts et les valeurs des plus jeunes. Le succès de ces programmes depuis la fin des années 1970, critiqué par certains comme une colonisation culturelle, a même conduit à la réalisation de telenovelas portugaises à partir des années 1990, devenues de sérieuses concurrentes pour leur modèle latino-américain.

Portugal holds a special place within the vast international market for Brazilian telenovelas, which have been shown to influence the vocabulary of their Portuguese audience, and even tastes and values for the youngest. The success of these programs since the end of the 1970’s, akin for some critics to a form of cultural colonization, led to the production, starting in the 1990’s, of Portuguese telenovelas, now serious competitors to their Latin-American models.
