It looks back at the breakthrough of SI and its influence on theory and research within Swedish sociology during the 1970s and 1980s, centered around the figure of Johan Asplund. Subsequently, SI developed in several Swedish locations, notably Gothenburg and Uppsala; L’article dresse un aperçu de l’origine de l’interactionnisme symbolique (IS) en Suède et de ses thématiques au cours de huit décennies. Il revient sur la percée de l’IS et son influence sur la théorie et la recherche au sein de la sociologie suédoise au cours des années 1970-1980 autour de la personnalité de J. Asplund.
