N2  - Cet article propose d’examiner une production graphique de Stefan Sagmeister sous l’angle théorique d’un article de Lorraine Wild. L’objectif est de mettre en lumière l’idéologie et sa portée critique sur la production graphique. La méthodologie vise à analyser le déplacement de notions de la théorie à la pratique. Ce présupposé permet d’étendre l’analyse de ces interactions aux substrats notionnels et idéologiques du poststructuralisme. En quoi la posture critique pratique est-elle influencée par la théorie ? Comment les notions engagées peuvent migrer de leur milieu scientifique, politique, ou éthique pour guider la pratique ou la tramer dans le cadre du design graphique ? Les transformations sociétales, technologiques et politiques ont affecté profondément le graphisme qui a perdu une partie de sa position de prestataire de services au cours des années 1980. Les postures engagées dans le fonctionnalisme tiraient leur substrat idéologique des idées politiques (le progressisme technologique positiviste du socialisme ou le progressisme capitaliste libéral). Le postmodernisme renverse un certain équilibre de force dans les rapports de production en rendant possible une nouvelle perception soutenue par des cadres conceptuels, philosophiques et esthétiques. L’article propose de décrire ces filiations pour retracer l’influence du débat théorique sur la pratique et ses qualités; This article will analyze a piece of graphic production from Stefan Sagmeister. The analysis takes the point of view of a theoretical article by Lorraine Wild. The aim is to focus on ideology and its critical impact on graphic production. The analytical methodology follows the movement of the notions, from theory to practice. This presupposition allows for an expansion of the analysis of these interactions with the notional and ideological substrata of poststructuralism. How are critical and practical stances influenced by theory ? In which ways can the notions involved move between the environments of science, politics, or ethics ? How do they guide the practice or determine the framing of graphic design ? Societal, technological, and political transformations have deeply affected the work of graphic design, which lost its role as service provider during the 80s. The stances that lie at the heart of functionalism derive a lot of their ideological substrata from political ideology (be it the positivist technological progressivism of socialism or the kind of progressivism advocated by neo-liberal capitalism). Postmodernism overturns a certain balance between forces, mainly in terms of the relations of production, a domain in which it makes possible a new perception that is supported by new conceptual, philosophical, and æsthetic framing. The article describes these filiations in order to draw a map of theoretical influences on practices and their qualities
