<br/><br/> Le professeur Côté partage avec nous son expérience d’ethnographe au sein d’organisations de soin. Il propose ici une réflexion sur sa pratique sous la forme d’un témoignage portant sur son séjour au pays des cliniciens. L’objectif de ce témoignage est de documenter sa démarche ethnographique qui a eu cours, entre octobre 1995 et juin 2000, au sein d’un centre hospitalier spécialisé québécois, situé en région, et vivant un changement organisationnel majeur. Il profite de l’occasion pour nous faire part de quelques découvertes insoupçonnées découlant de ses travaux de recherche dont notamment la simplicité de l’hôpital en tant qu’entité organisationnelle et le rôle à la fois prédominant et intégrateur de la confiance dans la transformation des pratiques cliniques. Il partage avec nous ses craintes, ses incertitudes et ses angoisses récurrentes ayant trait à l’accès au terrain de recherche, à la stratégie d’observation à adopter, à la gestion des donnés et à la crédibilité et la qualité des donnés. Pour terminer, il souligne la contribution de la démarche ethnographique à la compréhension des enjeux auxquels font face les organisations d’aujourd’hui.  Ethnography within clinical settingsProfessor Côté will share his experience within the care organization as an ethnographer. He proposes to take some time and reflect on his work that is showcased through his testimonies taken during his stay in the land of clinicians. The purpose of this testimony is to document the ethnographic approach that took place between October 1995 and June 2000, in a regional Quebec specialty hospital going through a major organizational change. He will take advantage of this platform to give us some unexpected discoveries resulting from his research, including the simplicity of the hospital as an organizational entity, and the role of both dominant and integrator of confidence in the transformation of clinical practice. He shares with us fears, his uncertainties and recurring anxieties in terms of access to this field of research, to the observation strategy used, to the dissemination of the data collected as well as the credibility and quality of that data. Finally, he’ll be emphasizing the contribution of the ethnographic approach in order to understand the issues the organizations are facing today.
