<br/><br/> RésuméLa Francophonie en tant qu’Organisation internationale appartient au monde des nouveaux intervenants sur la scène internationale. Mais a-t-elle pour autant la capacité d’être reconnue comme un acteur de la vie politique mondiale ? Après avoir précisé la nature du système institutionnel de la Francophonie et épinglé les nombreuses spécificités qui caractérisent cette Organisation, cet article tente d’une part de préciser les rôles que joue l’Entente francophone vis-à-vis de ses Membres et d’autre part d’examiner son influence en tant qu’acteur global, ce à quoi elle aspire.  The “Francophonie” as an international organization belongs to the new players on the international scene. But can it be recognized as a player in world politics? After having stated the nature of the institutional system of the ‘Francophonie’ and underpinned the many special features of this organization, this article attempts on one hand to clarify its relation with its members, and on the other hand to examine its influence as a global player, to which it aspires.  ResumenLa “Francophonie” como organización internacional pertenece al mundo de los nuevos participantes en la escena internacional. ¿Pero tiene la capacidad de ser reconocida como tal en la vida política mundial? Después de precisar la naturaleza del sistema institucional de la ‘Francophonie’ y de subrayar las numeras características de esta Organización, este articulo trata, de un lado, de clarificar sus relaciones con sus miembros, y, de otro lado, de considerar su influencia como un participante en la globalización, a la cual elle aspira.
