- 2024.
37
In a context marked by a rapid digitalization of the environment and the increasing diffusion of new financial technological tools, this research explores the relationship of Generation Z male consumers (or digital natives) to fintech and cryptocurrencies. To this end, ten semi-structured interviews were conducted with male students to understand their knowledge and uses, but also their brakes and motivations with regard to various innovative digital financial tools. The results make it possible to identify a specific relationship to money, a strong and shared interest in these new financial objects, and a variety of attitudes and behaviors (from early adopters to cautious consumers). The study also highlights several dimensions associated with their use of cryptocurrencies (fun, emotional, financial, environmental, and temporal) but also a trust in financial tools coupled with a certain lucidity.
