<br/><br/> À partir d’un travail clinique récent avec Marcel Nuss sur la virilité avec des hommes atteints d’un handicap l’auteur s’interroge sur les liens entre virilité et masculinité. Est interrogée l’identité sexuelle comme part de l’identité socialement construite dans un dispositif de sexualité. La clinique de l’homme handicapé physique, supposé dépourvu de virilité vient éclairer la clinique du masculin en général. Ne peut-on jouer un rôle masculin (par exemple dans la fonction paternelle, dans la sexualité ou au travail) sans posséder les attributs stéréotypés de la virilité ?  Virility and Masculinity in Handicapped Men. A recent clinical case handled in partnership with Marcel Nuss pertaining to the question of virility in handicapped men has led the author of this paper to examine the bonds between virility and masculinity. The question of sexual identity as a social construct within the framework of sexuality is explored. The clinical case of a physically handicapped man whose virility had, it seemed, been lost sheds light on the question of masculinity in general, for it quickly became clear that a man can play a masculine role (through the paternal function, in sexuality and at work) without having to possess the stereotypical attributes of virility.
