<br/><br/> In 1794, when it had only just been created, the Corps des Mines published the first issue of a journal that would accompany the industrial and mining development of France from the end of the 18th century to the early years of the 19th century. For the State engineers, the Journal des Mines was a way of denouncing the anarchic exploitation of landowners and imposing their vision of subsoil management on the public debate of the time.  En 1794, alors qu’il vient tout juste d’être créé, le Corps des mines publie le premier numéro d’une revue qui accompagnera le développement industriel et minier de la France de la fin du xviiie siècle aux premières années du xixe. Le Journal des mines constitue pour les ingénieurs d’État un moyen de dénoncer l’exploitation anarchique des propriétaires fonciers et d’imposer dans le débat public de l’époque leur vision en matière de gestion du sous-sol.
