<br/><br/> Death is inseparable from war. The study of the way in which soldiers represented it thus uncovers both their war experiences and their photographic practices. Consequently, this article compares and intertwines private and official photographs, confronting propaganda pictures with individual memories of amateur photographers who were soldiers.
