<br/><br/> Despite his isolationist promises, Trump is unable to drive the withdrawal of the United States. This failure is due to his role as a guardian of Western capitalism, as well as the interests of the ruling classes – who benefit from conflicts. Trumpism offers to his deceived electorate a predatory inflexion of the Western framework from which he gives up extracting himself: the United States will remain in NATO. NATO will turn into a tributary entity, which will impose increasingly asymmetrical conditions on its allies.  Malgré ses promesses isolationnistes, Donald Trump est incapable d’impulser le retrait des États-Unis. Cet échec tient à son rôle de gardien du capitalisme occidental, ainsi qu’aux intérêts des classes dominantes – qui bénéficient des conflits. À son électorat floué, le trumpisme offre une inflexion prédatrice du cadre occidental dont il renonce à s’extraire : les États-Unis demeureront dans l’OTAN, mais celle-ci deviendra une entité tributaire, qui imposera des conditions toujours plus asymétriques aux alliés des Américains.
