N2  - From October 27-30 2024, the 16th International Oncolytic Virotherapy Conference (IOVC) was held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, a city that mirrors the spirit of resilience, conviction, and innovation of researchers in the field of oncolytic viruses. Rotterdam, renowned for its post-war rebuilding with cutting-edge architecture designed for a bright future in mind, provided a fitting reflection that oncolytic virotherapy is at a turning point in its evolution. Hosted at the International Congress Center De Doelen, the event gathered clinicians, scientists, and biotech leaders to showcase the most up-to-date clinical applications, novel viral platforms, targeted mechanisms, and immune-modulating strategies that will push the boundaries of cancer immunotherapy into the next era. We present here an overview of this engaging meeting and offer our own perspectives on where to dream and continue to build; Du 27 au 30 octobre 2024 s’est tenue à Rotterdam, aux Pays-Bas, la 16e Conférence internationale sur la virothérapie oncolytique (IOVC), dans une ville reflétant l’esprit de résilience, de conviction et d’innovation des chercheurs dans le domaine de la thérapie utilisant des virus oncolytiques. Rotterdam, réputée pour sa reconstruction d’après-guerre et son architecture avant-gardiste tournée vers un avenir prometteur, a offert un lieu parfait pour un moment clé dans l’évolution de la discipline. Accueilli au Centre international des congrès De Doelen, cet événement a réuni cliniciens, scientifiques et leaders de l’industrie biotechnologique pour présenter les applications cliniques les plus récentes, les nouvelles plateformes virales, les mécanismes ciblés et les stratégies immunomodulatrices qui repousseront les limites de l’immunothérapie du cancer dans le futur. Nous présentons ici un aperçu de cette conférence et partageons notre vision de certaines perspectives pour continuer à rêver et à construire dans ce domaine de recherche
