This article reflects on the relevance of distinguishing contemporary Mapuche art in the context of general international art production, given that it is produced by First Nations artists and that its practice assumes the colonial wound that has shaped America’s destiny. From this perspective, the strategies of cultural resistance proposed by the works of Francisco Huichaqueo and Bernardo Oyarzún are analyzed.
