A look back at Transitions, a journey in criticism: collective creativity and a commemorative book

<br/><br/> From 2011, the Transitions movement brought together countless researchers to focus on the transitionality of literature. The journey was punctuated by the annual seminar, a website to which content was added weekly then monthly, international conferences, roundtables, discussion groups and journal issues. In 2024, a book of exceptional proportions brought together the numerous contributions by over a hundred authors who took part in the journey over the years. In this article, two texts by Hélène Merlin-Kajman and Jérôme David, respectively, present slightly reworked versions of the preface and foreword of the volume published under their guidance: Transitions. Une aventure critique (2011-2022), Paris, Ithaque, 2024. These texts are followed by a non-exhaustive inventory of the critical formats regularly used by the movement in its publications and dialogues.
