Creation in the Couple Relationship: Perverse Core and Narcissistic Scenarios - 2002.

55

Like the group, the couple is a favourable auxiliary to the development of each protagonist’s creative work. In her private diary, Anaïs Nin attests the effects on her own creation, of the passionate love affair which she had for nearly a year with Henry Miller. Such a fusional relationship gives place to new writing prospects. In order to feel alive, Anaïs accumulates sexual experiences. The quest for transgression as she relates in her diary is linked to a traumatic incestuous event. Besides, the homosexual couple she makes up with June, Miller’s wife, is of crucious importance for Anaïs Nin, since it actualizes the originary incestual relationship.
