When reality bursts into the analyst’s consulting-room and comes to reveal the real and traumatic impact of real-life experiences in the sphere of intimacy, first the incest, it is advisable to maintain the tension between fantasy and reality, but it is also necessary for the analyst to agree with an adjustment of the therapeutic context and of his technique. The account of the therapy will help us to be more specific about the patient’s suffering – and its overcoming – caused by a private trespassing that has so far remained a taboo.
