<br/><br/> The recent April 2025 report by the French parliamentary commission of inquiry into shortcomings in public child protection policies has highlighted the profound crisis affecting the sector as a whole. One of the many aspects of this crisis is the declining attractiveness of care professions, which is due, among other things, to deteriorating working conditions and a loss of meaning. In this context, examining the profession of foster carer and its specific characteristics allows us to question the dynamics of commitment to becoming and remaining a foster carer.
