<br/><br/> Hans Blumenberg et Siegfried Kracauer se sont rencontrés à l’occasion des colloques Poetik und Hermeneutik dans les années 1960. Leur amitié s’est doublée d’un dialogue intellectuel qui apporte un éclairage sur le livre posthume de Kracauer, History: the last things before the last. En dépit de tout ce qui sépare leurs oeuvres respectives, ils partagent la même méfiance envers un certain type d’histoire des idées qui méconnaît selon eux les éléments de discontinuité et de rupture. Cette position est elle-même liée à une vision différenciée de la modernité qui, tout en refusant toute philosophie de l’histoire, rompt avec la Kulturkritik et les solutions extrêmes des années 1920 et 1930, pour évoluer vers ce que l’on pourrait définir comme une Aufklärung mélancolique.  Hans Blumenberg and Siegfried Kracauer met on the occasion of the colloquiums Poetik und Hermeneutik in the 1960s. Their friendship was coupled with an intellectual dialogue which sheds light on the Kracauer’s posthumous book, History : the last things before the last. In spite of all that separates their respective works, they share the same distrust of a certain type of history of the ideas which ignores, according to them, the elements of discontinuity and break. This position is bound itself to a differentiated view of modernity which, while refusing all philosophy of history, breaks with Kulturkritik and extreme solutions of the 1920s and 1930s, to evolve towards what we could define as melancholic Aufklärung.
