<br/><br/> Cet article revient sur les rapports entre la pensée de Hobbes et celle de Bacon, sur un point précis : l’attention que chacun prête à l’histoire de la science ou de la philosophie. Cette attention à l’histoire intellectuelle en général caractérise bien ces deux pensées. En précisant l’usage que Bacon peut faire de l’histoire de la philosophie (pour connaître le pouvoir de connaître et pour saisir ses interactions avec l’histoire politique), on voit d’autant mieux la manière dont Hobbes recueille et prolonge de manière critique les pistes lancées par Bacon.  The History of Science and Its Institutions, from Bacon to Hobbes: a Critical LegacyThis article deals with the relationship between the thought of Hobbes and that of Bacon, about this specific point : the attention that both paid to the history of science and philosophy. This attention to the intellectual history in general characterizes well these two thoughts. Through a description of the baconian use of the history of philosophy (in order to know the power of knowing and to understand its interactions with political history), one see better the way Hobbes collects and critically extends the ideas framed by Bacon.
