<br/><br/> RésuméLe travail médial est celui qui s’accomplit dans notre corps médial, à savoir le milieu éco-techno-symbolique nécessaire à l’existence de la personne individuelle. C’est la chôra indispensable au topos de notre corps animal. Or l’ontologie moderne ne reconnaît pas ce lien. Cette forclusion est particulièrement marquée dans l’individualisme méthodologique. Elle s’exprime dans la rationalité à court terme du capitalisme. Si l’humanité doit survivre sur la Terre, il s’impose de substituer à l’ontologie moderne, focalisée par l’ être vers la mort individuel, une ontologie reconnaissant l’ être vers la vie de l’humanité.  Medial work is that performed by the medial body, i.e. the eco-techno-symbolic milieu necessary to the existence of the individual person. It is the chora required by the topos of our animal body. However, modern ontology does not acknowledge this link. This debarment is particularly pronounced in methodological individualism. It is expressed by the short term rationality of capitalism. If humankind is to survive on Earth, we must replace modern ontology, which focuses on the «being towards death» of the individual, with an ontology that acknowledges the «being towards life» of humankind.
