N1 - 54 N2 - Since children presenting Behavioral Disorders (BD) are becoming more and more common in schools, it is imperative to analyze the principal factors related to the presence and chronic nature of this problem. Among these factors, this research aims to explore the link between empathy, pro-social behavior, and BD. Fifty-one boys, aged 7 to 12 years old and their parents participated in the study. The children completed a questionnaire about their ability to empathize. The parents filled out several questionnaires measuring BD, empathy, and pro-social behavior in their children. The results suggest that empathy is an important factor for the healthy psychosocial development of the child. They also highlight the mediation role that pro-social behavior can play on the children’s ability to exhibit empathy or BD UR - https://shs.cairn.info/journal-enfance2-2014-4-page-459?lang=en ER -
