<br/><br/> Dans une étude récente, le théologien de Strasbourg Philippe Vallin met vigoureusement en relief l’originalité de l’Église du Christ par rapport aux religions et son aptitude à conduire « à la désaliénation réciproque et à l’accomplissement conjoint du fait religieux et du fait culturel ». Son « hypothèse » est ici présentée dans sa cohérence, ses points forts sont soulignés, mais aussi ses limites. Du même coup se trouvent indiqués les défis auxquels sont affrontées les Églises chrétiennes face à la diversité des cultures et à la modernité.  In a recent study, the Strasbourg theologian Philippe Vallin strongly underlines the originality of the Church of Christ in comparison with other religions, and its capacity to lead to “the reciprocal disalienation and joint accomplishment of the religious and the cultural”. His “hypothesis” is here presented in its full consistency, its strengths underlined, but its limits highlighted also, with the effect of indicating the challenges facing the Christian churches in the context of modernity and cultural diversity.
