N2  - Cette recherche clinique qualitative explore l’impact psychique d’une mort fœtale in utero (mfiu) sur l’investissement d’une grossesse ultérieure et le vécu de la maternité. Des entretiens non directifs ont été menés auprès de trois femmes ayant vécu une mfiu lors d’une première grossesse suivie d’une naissance viable. L’analyse des récits met en évidence des trajectoires contrastées mais qui traduisent une même nécessité : survivre à l’effraction traumatique. L’hypothèse clinique avancée est que les processus psychiques à l’œuvre témoignent d’une emprise défensive sur l’expérience traumatique, colorant le vécu de la maternité et l’investissement du nouvel enfant; This qualitative clinical research explores the psychic impact of Intra-Uterine Foetal Death (iufd or stillbirth) on investment in a subsequent pregnancy and the construction of motherhood. Non-directive interviews were conducted with three women having experienced iufd during their first pregnancy, followed by a viable birth. Analysis of the narratives highlights contrasting trajectories all pointing however to a common necessity, that of surviving the traumatic disruption. The clinical hypothesis is that the psychic processes at play express a defensive hold over the traumatic experience, shaping the maternal experience and the relationship with the subsequent child
