Care for the deceased
- 2019.
9
Funeral services are receiving a growing number of requests to take care of deceased people and restore their life and body. The psychic processes associated with this care have long been denied, even hidden. However, there is no doubt that, for those confronted with it, the encounter with the cadaver mobilizes a subjective dynamic, the logic of which is governed by the emergence of a fantastical world that is specific to each person. The authors will explore, on the basis of a clinical listening, the issues of this dynamic and the experiences of professionals who are often left to their own loneliness.
