<br/><br/> RésuméClaude Langlois jette un regard critique sur le rapport de Thérèse aux missions, en mettant en cause la figure construite à partir de 1927 et en revenant au déroulement de l’histoire d’une moniale qui montre un intérêt tardif pour les missions, lié à sa rencontre en 1896 avec le Père Roulland, envoyé en Chine, et qui révèle l’ambivalence de son attitude quand on envisage son départ ou celui des siens pour une fondation lointaine. Toutefois, c’est la relecture de ses écrits, dans une perspective tant anthropologique (le rapport de Thérèse à ses frères) que théologique (ses deux grands manuscrits A et C) qui permet de mieux comprendre les intuitions d’une pensée innovante, tout en montrant la place qu’elle accorde au désir du martyre, inscrit au cœur de son écrit le plus poétique (le manuscrit B). Roulland who was sent to China, which reveals the ambivalence of her attitude when imagining the departure of himself or his colleagues for a far off foundation. However, it is by looking again at her writings from both an anthropological (the relations of Teresa with her brothers) and a theological standpoint (her two large manuscripts A and C) that we can more easily appreciate the intuitions of an innovative thought, while showing the place that she gives to a desire for martyrdom, which is at the heart of her most poetic writing (manuscript B).
