Alternative housing for elderly people, a comparison between Germany and France

<br/><br/> Germany and France face similar challenges in terms of adapting society to demographic changes, although the ageing of the population is more pronounced in Germany. Both countries show a willingness to allow elderly people to age at home, and they are developing alternative forms of housing in order to avoid or postpone as much as possible a potential nursing home placement. Nevertheless, these alternative solutions are developing differently in both countries. Is a comparison between Germany and France in this domain possible? What can we learn from it?
