N1 - 4 N2 - Based on quantitative and qualitative data collected through a virtual focus group gathering more than 200 women (aged from twenty to seventy years) over two weeks, this text uses interpretation to analyze the role of the body in women’s experiences of ageing. The article underlines that the body is first and foremost seen as a source of concern, a sentinel that suddenly announces the unexpected and painful drawbacks of ageing. However, we assert that this experience is replaced by the participants by a far more positive interpretation of ageing as a lived-experience. We conclude by insisting on the necessity of offering everyone the resources to nurture his or her reflexive work and to widen the range of models available for his or her interpretation of ageing UR - https://shs.cairn.info/journal-gerontologie-et-societe-2015-1-page-23?lang=en ER -
