Incest without latency - 2014.

98

This article suggests a theoretical elaboration on the psychic impact of sexual abuse that took place during the latency period. During this period, the child develops his/her fantasies and reorganizes the way his/her identifications and ideals are set, taking into account the Oedipal prohibitions. A psychic playing unfolds in search of a substitute love object and a plan for the future. Sexual abuse can prevent such reorganization and throws the subject into a traumatic latency. Psychoanalytical psychotherapy is said to allow the possibility of loosening the psychic functioning where it has been placed offside.
