N1 - 53 N2 - Although there are many immigrant psychologists in Quebec, little is known about their professional reality. This article explores the clinical issues specific to them. In two interviews, four immigrant psychologists comment on drawings by children and discuss their clinical practice. Data was analyzed based on the psychodynamic model. The results are based around three themes: the role of the cultural identity of the psychologists in their interpretations of the drawings; their relationship with their immigrant patients; and the impact of discriminatory experiences on the psychologists’ professional identity. Their position as immigrants gives them valuable assets, but there is also a downside: difficulties in getting their skills recognized, discrimination, and identity conflicts.
