Since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis in 2014, the EU’s and NATO’s Eastern flank is in a situation of high tension. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania members of the EU and NATO since 2004 are concerned about the Kremlin’s provocative attitude. The potential Russian threat to the security and stability of the Baltic states and, in turn, to the security architecture of Europe, is both military and non-military.
