<br/><br/> France’s first national falls prevention day for older people took place in Montpellier on October 1, 2024. This event highlighted older people’s interest in: i) public conferences providing information on fall risk factors and general preventive measures, and ii) workshops offered throughout the city, providing individual fall risk assessments and personalized advice based on identified risk levels and factors. It also highlighted the interest of health care professionals and training institutes in: i) information on the roles of various field actors in the care pathway for older people at a moderate or high risk of falls; and ii) new organizational models and technologies developed to implement national and international recommendations on falls prevention. Finally, the event also supports the French National Academy of Medicine and regional health agencies in organizing an annual national falls prevention day in France.
