“Culture-shock”: a telling sign of the difficulties of social workers working with migrants and refugees

<br/><br/> This contribution reports on two situations of culture-shock experienced by social workers who were helping migrants and refugees, and offers an analysis from the perspective of experience gained in formation in intercultural communication. This theoretical tool makes it possible to study incidents related to the cultural specifics of both the worker and the client. It is essential to take both sides into account if amicable intercultural relations are to be achieved.
