The forms of work organization are currently undergoing profound change, with the distinctions between salaried work and self-employment now taking on a new dimension. The latest social reforms help to question the nature of the relationship between the employer and the employee and the relationship between the contracting client and the self-employed. Normative data from the last twenty years show that the link of subordination as a criterion of authority is evolving to characterize these types of management relationships. The situations of employed workers and those of the self-employed tend to be closer to a power relationship.
