<br/><br/> This research examines three alternatives to ownership for luxury clothes/accessories for women aged 16–39: borrowing, renting, and shared purchase. Interviews show both similarities and differences in relation to oneself and others, to the object, and in the process in the case of exclusive ownership vs. access. The identity, status, and hedonistic aspects of luxury clothes/accessories generate an interest for possession but do not exclude access.
