Dans le département du Pas-de-Calais, terre natale de Maurice Thorez, cette ligne de fermeté face à l’Allemagne nazie se développe au moment où se délite le Front populaire, portée par des cadres communistes locaux convaincus de la justesse de la ligne antifasciste.
