<br/><br/> This article examines the importance of the cosmic paradigm in the formulation of Mughal imperium at two interrelated levels : the world the monarchs of the dynasty strove to conquer was, on the one hand, the macrocosm over which their authority was meant to prevail and, on the other hand, the empire throught of as a world in miniature bringing together every species of Creation.
