Augusto Pinochet in caricature in the French and Anglo-American press, 1973-2006 - 2015.

Forty years after the Chilean coup, the figure of Augusto Pinochet is part of the world’s pantheon of twentieth century dictators. This article examines the construction of the image of the dictator through press cartoons published in Europe (particularly in France and England) and the United States. The article also reviews graphic images built around the image of the Chilean dictator during the 1973-2006 period.
